"Have you had a dear friend or member of your family die recently?"

"As the result of this death, do you feel lost or forgotten?"

"Do you want to get on with your life, but have not been able to?

St. Michael’s Bereavement ministry provides compassionate support for loved ones during the funeral planning and at the funeral service. Now St. Michael Parish is offering a grief support group, extending that caring spirit into the difficult period that follows when grief can overwhelm.

This is a time when you may feel isolated, empty, broken hearted and looking for companionship on this journey. Our grief support group’s goal is to provide a confidential, safe environment to mourn the loss of a loved one.

Our Lord assured us that those who mourn are blessed and that they shall be comforted. St. Michael’s Bereavement ministry would like to offer the grieving an opportunity to come together to share in God’s love. With the support of the faith community, we can give voice to our unique journeys of grief and find healing and spiritual growth.

We currently gather as a support group every other week and spend time utilizing the Seasons of Hope simple format.

The Seasons of Hope sessions strive to help us explore mourning through scripture, prayer reflection activities and faith sharing.

Seasons of Hope is centered on Jesus Christ and grounded in the healing wisdom, traditions, and practices of the Catholic Church.

For those searching for hope, this group may be the link to the Church, God the Almighty and other people of faith who are also mourning.
