Preschool Curriculum

St. Michael School's early childhood programs provide for the development of the total child - the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual dimensions. A balanced pattern of growth enables young children to become enthused about all of life and learning as they grow in awareness of self and their relationship to nature, others and God.

Responsibility for educating the young child is shared by parents, teachers, and the community. Their cooperative efforts introduce the child to the mean of Christian community. The environment within which young children develop is both free and supportive in sustaining their capacity of experience wonder and delight. At St. Michael School, we believe that children should participate in a wide variety of growth experiences, with reflect concern and are supported by loving interaction.

    Program Goals:
To welcome children into the larger Christian community
To assist children in developing a positive self-image
To guide children in the development of appropriate social behavior
To provide experiences which enhance children's ability to use their body more efficiently
To offer children various opportunities to discover and learn through the senses and to develop an appreciation for all creation
To expand children's capacity to communicate effectively and to learn
