Coaching is done by parent
volunteers. Administration for all programs is provided by the Athletic
Director and the Athletic Board.
All St. Michael athletes are required to provide their coaching staff

After school enrichment activities such as band, yearbook, and the school newspaper, allow students to learn in a less formal environment while encouraging students to explore a wide variety of interests.
Student Council
The Student Council is made up of elected representatives, two from 6th grade, four from 7th grade and four from 8th grade. In addition eighth graders hold the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. To maximize opportunities for interested students terms are for one semester. Two coordinators from the school staff assist the council in accomplishing their planned activities, which include, food drives, recycling drives, seventh and eighth grade dances and other projects.

writing the monthly school newspaper.

D.A.R.E.
The half-year Drug
Awareness Resistance Education Program (DARE) for fifth grade is coordinated with and sponsored by the Wheaton City Police Department. During this time a police representative meets regularly with our fifth graders to discuss the dangers of drugs and to answer the questions that our students might have.

This program, Violence
Education, Gang Awareness, (VEGA) is offered to the sixth graders during the first semester. During this time a D.A.R.E. officer from the Wheaton City Police Department meets regularly with our sixth graders to discuss the dangers of violence and gangs.
Theater
Each year the 5th grade performs a Christmas play with the help of grades K-4 in supporting roles. The play is performed twice - a matinee performance for the school at large and an evening performance focused on parental attendance.
Each year, prior to graduation the entire 8th grade performs a play, typically a musical, with a number of showings for both the student body and parents.
Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts
St Michael supports all of these organizations by making meeting space available. Each of these organizations has a group consisting primarily of St Michael students and led by their parents.
