Religious Education: Grades Pre-8
2019-2020 Religious Education REGISTRATION for Preschool 3, 4 & Kindergarten - Grade 8
We are blessed at St. Michael Religious Education because so many parents offer their time by teaching, aiding, helping with attendance, and more. But there are many areas where we need more help throughout the year. This is why we ask each family to help at one RE session - 90 minutes long.
After class assignments are finalized in August we will assign each family one date during their child’s session to come and help. We are looking forward to meeting and working with each family! We promise coffee and camaraderie with your church family. Of course families will be free to switch or change dates as needed.

2019-2020 Volunteer REGISTRATION
Thank you for your willingness to help and be a part of St. Michael Religious Education program. We are looking forward to working with you!
An All-Catechist and Aides Meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 4th at 7PM at the Faith Center, 317 W. Willow Ave, Wheaton. This meeting is designed for catechists and aides teaching in grades preschool, kindergarten, and first through eighth grade. All adults working with children in a Catholic setting in the U.S. need to participate in a Protecting God’s Children workshop (once in their lifetime). St. Michael Parish will offer a PGC workshop on Sunday, September 8th, 2019 at 1:30PM (tentative date/time). Almost every parish in the Diocese of Joliet offers this workshop and you are welcome to attend when and where it is convenient for you. Please check times and locations and register at www.virtus.org. We will also ask you to fill out a few forms: Volunteer Release & Profile Form, an Acknowledgement of Mandated Reporter Status, as well as an Acknowledgement Form for Clergy, Employees, Volunteers, & Parents.
As part of the Baptismal Rite, parents promise God to raise their child in our Catholic faith. Consistent Mass attendance and class attendance are important pieces of this promise. We strive to nurture each child’s Catholic faith along with you and so we welcome you as we begin registration for Religious Education classes for the 2019-2020 school year.
As a reminder, two years of Religious Education classes are required prior to First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation according to our Diocesan and Parish guidelines. If you are new to our parish, please register with the parish office first by calling 630-665-2250 or stopping by that office at 310 S. Wheaton Avenue. We look forward to working together with you as we strive to instill a love for our Lord and His Church in the hearts of our children. May God bless your family and shower you with His abundant grace.
