Religious Education 2026-2027

Welcome to St. Michael Religious Education—a place where families grow together in faith and community. With two programs both supporting parents as they grow their children’s Catholic Faith, St. Michael offers Religious Education through Family Faith and Traditional Classroom models. All classes are thoughtfully scheduled to align with St. Michael Mass Times and the District 200 School Calendar.

Option 1 Family Faith – 8 in-person sessions plus 12 at-home lessons

Students and at least one parent attend in-person sessions that include family attendance at Mass. Families receive guided lessons for at-home study during the month.

·         Session A Family Faith Preschool/Sunday Sunshine, Kindergarten-5th Grade Sunday 8-10am (includes family attendance at 9:00 am Mass)

·         Session B Family Faith Preschool/Sunday Sunshine, Kindergarten 5th Grade Sunday 10am-12pm (includes family attendance at 11:00 am Mass)

·         Session C Family Faith 6th-8th Grade Sunday 4:30-6:45pm (includes family attendance at 4:30pm Mass)

Option 2 Traditional Classroom – 14 in-person sessions plus 6 at-home lessons

Students attend in-person sessions and weekly Mass with their individual families. Families receive 6 guided lessons for at-home study during the year.

·         Session A Traditional 6th-8th Grade Sunday 8:00 – 8:55am

·         Session B Traditional 6th-8th Grade Sunday 10:00 -10:55am

·         Session C Traditional Preschool-8thWednesday 4:30-5:30pm

Tuition – 1st through 8th Grade:

·         One Child $300 (until 6/7/26); $350 (6/8-7/31/26); $390 (beginning 8/1/26)

·         Two Children $420 (until 6/7/26); $470 (6/8-7/31/26); $510 (beginning 8/1/26)

·         Three or More Children $520 (until 6/7/26); $570 (6/8-7/31/26); $610 (beginning 8/1/26)

Tuition – Preschool through Kindergarten:

·         $175 per preschool student

·         $200 per kindergarten student

Note: families with a combination of preschool/kindergarten students and 1st through 8th grade students will pay the lessor of the pricing options based on the number of students in their family.

Additional Fees:

·         First Communion Sacramental Fee (typically 2nd grade) $75 per child

·         Confirmation Sacramental Fee (typically 8th grade) $75 per child

·         "LoveEd Theology of the Body” Fee (required for all 5th grade students or any new 6th, 7th, or 8th grade students) $30 per child

·         Non-parishioner fee (if applicable) $150 per family

·         OCIA for children fee $225 per child

Tuition Discounts for Catechists and Volunteers

·         Catechist Discount $250 applied to RE tuition OR St. Michael School tuition

·         Adult Volunteer Discount (Classroom Aides, Crossing Guards, Attendance Volunteers, and Traffic Safety Volunteers) $100 applied to RE tuition

Tuition Payments & Financial Aid

Families paying by cash or check should submit tuition payments by July 31, 2026. As a courtesy to returning families who paid electronically for RE in 2025-2026, they remain enrolled in Facts and DO NOT need to re-enroll. They will be charged tuition rates based on the timestamp of the sign-up(s) with the associated fees. Their selection of 1 or 2 payments will remain the same as in 2025-2026. Cash or checks made payable to St. Michael Church can be mailed to the St. Michael Faith Center, 317 W Willow Avenue, Wheaton IL, 60187 or hand-delivered to the locked mailbox located to the left of the Faith Center’s main entrance.

Families opting to pay electronically must enroll in the Facts Management System by July 31, 2026. Tuition payments will be drawn on August 15, 2026, for families opting for one payment; or on August 15, 2026 and October 15, 2026 for families opting for a two-payment plan.
