A New St. Michael Deacon!
… and appropriately so, because his name is Michael Doerries! On August 23, at 11 o’clock in the morning, Bishop Hicks will ordain a batch of deacon candidates at St. Raymond Cathedral in Joliet, among whom is our very own parishioner Michael Doerries. The following Day, Sunday August 24, 2025, we will celebrate the mass of thanksgiving with him and for his diaconate, followed by a reception at the parish gymnasium. Please pray for Michael and his family during this time. God sends laborers to his vineyard, and servants to his Holy Church. Praise be to God!
Willow Street Project
Great news! On Monday, July 21, 2025, the City Council of Wheaton approved the ordinance for the vacation of Willow Street as detailed in the project proposed by St. Michael Parish to the Planning and Zoning Board. This is a major milestone in our plans, thanks to David Heise, chair of the Buildings and Grounds Commission and the entire team that worked to make it possible. Please read the bulletin article of July 27, 2025 for more details and next steps in the process.
The Project will be presented for approval at the Diocesan Buildings and Grounds Meeting on Wednesday, August 27 at 10:30 AM. Please pray for the success of the meeting.
Religious Education / Faith Formation Registration is now open!
This school year, we offer an alternative program called “Family Faith” while still offering the traditional model of in-classroom faith formation experience. Call our Faith Formation office now and discuss with our team which program might work best for you!

The Biblical Institute is at Saint Michael! Grab this chance…
to learn more about the Bible in a systematic way. Dr. Joan Gorski of Mayslake Ministries has spoken at our masses recently to invite everyone to make the most of the opportunity that is available right in our own house - the Biblical Institute! The investment is every Thursday evening at the Faith Center, and there are options of online sessions for those who have time constraints. In Person Preview Event is on Thursday, August 21, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. 317 W Willow Avenue, Wheaton, IL.
School and Programs Back in Full Swing
The summer season comes to its final weeks, and St. Michael School gets back to full throttle, as we anticipate the beginning of the new school year. Our children will return to our school on August 19, the official first day of school.
Many other programs in our parish are also coming back in full gear, including our parish Faith Formation Program, the offerings of the Women’s Faith Group and Adult Faith Formation classes, all ready for 100% engagement. Please watch out for parish announcements on various opportunities to grow in faith and knowledge of the Catholic tradition.
